Wrde Cub Survival Camp!

Date: 11th Jun 2017 Author: Scout Websites

Wrde Cubs had our first camp of the year this weekend – a Survival Camp.

We started our Survival Camp off at the Scout Hut; all our bags were packed and ready to go for the hike to our campsite, situated in our favourite woods on Eastrop Farm.  The Cubs carried everything they needed for the weekend, including tents, sleeping bags, and for some cubs, a toothbrush even made an appearance!

Compared to the same camp last year, this one was far less memorable. This is mostly due to the fact that we didn’t have buckets of rain falling on our heads every minute.  The better weather did make this more enjoyable, and we enjoyed sitting around the fire, whittling sticks, trying new foods and learning some new skills.

The Cubs all worked really well together, which is obviously tiring, which was shown by the fact they were asking to go to bed at 9pm.  For the leaders, this was unheard off!

We are really looking forward to our next camp, wherever it may be!  We have lots more pictures from Camp, and these can be seen in our gallery.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
