Our Beaver Colony

At 1st Highworth Scout Group, we have two active Beaver colonies that meet every week on either a Thursday or a Friday and we average 24 Beavers in each colony.

Beaver Scouts are boys and girls aged between 6 and 8 years old and are the Scout Association’s youngest members.

As a Beaver, there are a lot of fun, adventurous, inclusive and challenging things you can do. You will take part in a wide range of activities including games, crafts, singing, visits and good turns, along with plenty of outdoor activities. They will also have the opportunity to take part in the fun and excitement of camps and sleepovers. It may be the first time that they spend a night away from home so that’s a real adventure for them.

There are a huge range of badges that can be earned and these will be worked on either individually or as part of the normal colony meetings.

Weekly meetings at our HQ will include indoor and outdoor activities, exploring our local community as well as organised activities in a variety of different places.

If you are interested in joining Beavers then please fill in the form by clicking the button to the left and we will be in touch as soon as a place becomes available.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
