Huron Easter Egg Hunt

Date: 31st Mar 2017 Author: Scout Websites
Huron Beavers ended the term with our traditional Easter egg hunt at Badbury Clump.

The weather forecast at the beginning of the week had been for rain all day, but fortunately it improved and we had a lovely warm, dry, sunny evening.

Before the Beavers arrived Bramble and Yew walked around the Clump hiding our brightly-coloured Easter eggs.
After doing the register and explaining the ground rules, the Beavers set off to find them. When they came back to the start we found there was one egg missing, so we all had to set off again to find it … and eventually we did!

Afterwards we went to the back of the wood where there is a big fallen tree
that we all had lots of fun climbing. Some went really high and right to the ends of the branches, others stayed nearer the middle.

Finally, we presented over 60 badges including five Bronze Chief Scout Awards to Melissa and Charlie (who moved up to Cubs after Christmas), and Chloe, Jamie and Harry (who left Beavers this evening).

Congratulations to them all!

They are our first Beavers to have earned the new-style Bronze awards. We also said goodbye to Anna and Lily. All five of our leavers are moving up to Cubs, and we wish them well, we’ve certainly enjoyed having them at Beavers.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
