Celebrating our Success!

Date: 18th May 2017 Author: Scout Websites
In a lot of organisations, an Annual General Meeting (AGM) is just a formality.  However, we here at 1st Highworth Scouts, like to use it as an opportunity to celebrate the fun and adventure we have had over the last year!

This year we held our celebration on Tuesday 16th May and were delighted to be joined by some of our young people, their parents, our leaders, some members of the district team and our newly elected mayor, Nick Gardiner.

We had a lot to celebrate this year, from various international opportunities that some of our members have been selected for, to those achieving the top awards in their section.  In an effort to explain how we have achieved so many of the top awards, each section presented their highlights from the last year. This is summed up perfectly by the contribution from one of our Scout troops who put together the video below.

We finished our evening off with a number of presentations to recognise the achievements of each section.  A number of our young people walked away with the Chief Scouts Bronze or Silver award, as well as a congratulatory badge from 1st Highworth Scouts.  We also had presented an award to a leader that has now completed their training.

We are really looking forward to our next year of fun, challenge and adventure. If you would like to join us, please get in contact through the contact us form!

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
