Scouting would not survive without our adult members!

As a Group we are always looking for more adults to get involved in 1st Highworth Scouts. Some of these are roles with a weekly commitment, but others aren’t… however much time you can give we have a role that would make fantastic use of your talents, and would love to talk to you.

I can help each week!

Excellent! We have a number of roles that would suit you, with the option of working with a number of different age groups to best suit you.  How about you get in contact with us to discuss your options?

The more adults we have in the group, the more young people that can join the group who get to experience the adventure of Scouting!

I can’t commit weekly but I still want some adventure!

How about joining us as an adventurous activity instructor? A number of adults hold roles with us in activities such as instructors in kayaking and archery when they need more flexible volunteering time!

We want more adventurous activity instructors so we can offer more climbing, more mountain walking, more watersports and so much more!  These types of activities provide our young people with the challenges and skills to help them develop skills for life – as well as making life-long memories!

More of a laid-back volunteering style?

Our Executive Committee might be right for you!

The committee exists to support our Group Scout Leader in meeting their responsibilities of their appointment and to take responsibility for the administrative side of scouting to enable the Group to function effectively. You would be getting involved in the management of our finances and our assets and they normally meet just once every 6-8 weeks.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
