Meeting Place Upgrades

Date: 24th Nov 2016 Author: Scout Websites

Our Executive Committee have agreed to proceed with a number of upgrades in and around our headquarters.  The items that were discussed and agreed are:

  1. Upgrading the large window in the main hall to Double-glazing; the windows in the kitchen and entrance foyer will not be replaced at the current time due to the additional cost.
  2. Replace the broken fire door and outside store door.
  3. Rebuild and relaunch the website.
  4. Decorate upper sections of the hall.
  5. Replace the existing lighting in the hall with LED lights.
  6. Purchase a 17 seat minibus with towing capacity. The existing mini bus will be kept for the present moment whilst we monitor their use.

This should hopefully improve the headquarters for all to use.  We will continue to look for other ways to improve the building and any suggestions are welcomed and will be considered during the next spending round.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
