Our Explorer Unit

Explorers are the fourth section in the Scouting movement and are aged between 14 and 18 years old.

We have strong ties to our district explorer units and more information can be found here: Swindon North Scouts.

Explorer Scouts often get the chance to work with other Explorer Scouts in their District, not just their own Unit, so can take part in an even wider spectrum of activities. There is also a range of ambitious badges and awards, through which Explorers can demonstrate their proficiencies and expand their interests.

They also have the opportunity to become a young leader and volunteer with another section.  This can be used towards other awards such as the Duke of Edinburgh award.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
